Abstract

Religion has played an important role in shaping human civilizations, guiding cultures, influencing politics, and defining social values. In today’s global age, religion is often misunderstood and manipulated in ways that dim its original intent. This commentary article reflects on how religion works as a social force which is deeply rooted in culture, belief, and interpretation, and how its modern expressions are interlaced with media, technology, and collective behavior. By merging classical sociological insights with contemporary realities, this article highlights the importance of understanding religion not just a doctrine, but as a dynamic phenomenon that continues to define human conditions.
